Guardiola: I would have preferred a win, but congratulations to Real Madrid

Josep Guardiola, head coach of Catalan champion Manchester City, commented on the defeat of Real Madrid in the quarter-finals of the Champions League. The main and extra time of the rematch in England ended in a draw - 1:1. "Real" after the game won with a score of 4:3 on penalties. The first match in Madrid ended in a 3-3 draw.

"I would have preferred a win, but my congratulations to "Real Madrid." We did our best, we were excellent in every sense. Unfortunately, we didn't manage to win. We have what we have.

The main thing in football is goals, and the opponent realised the penalty a bit better. The little things decided everything. "Sometimes you win with penalties, sometimes you don't," the UEFA website quoted Guardiola as saying.

"Real Madrid" will face "Bayern" Munich in the semi-finals. French champion PSG and "Borussia" Dortmund will fight for the second ticket to the final.
