We will defeat Italy by 2-1 – Armenian international footballer

YEREVAN. – NEWS.am Sport got together with Armenian national football team and Ukraine’s FC Metalurh Donetsk midfielder Gevorg Ghazaryan who, however, will miss out—due to suspension—Armenia’s 2014 World Cup Brazil’s qualifying Group B match against Italy, which will be played Friday in Armenia’s capital, Yerevan. And below is an excerpt from the interview.   

Why have you come [to Armenia, since you will not be playing in the game]?

They gave me a five-day vacation in the team [Metalurh]. [And] I wished to spend it in Armenia, with my family, as well as to get together with my friends in the national squad.

Is it difficult to follow the squad’s training and preparation for a very important match from outside?

A very important game awaits us. I would have liked to take part in it very much, but following from outside is certainly very difficult.

A difficult game awaits, we have losses. What score do you predict? 

Yes, a very difficult game awaits us. But we will defeat Italy by a score of 2-1.

Owing to what could our [national] team defeat Europe’s vice champions?

First and foremost, owing to the support of our fans, then to our dedication and hard work. We will surpass them with these attributes. And I think we will not concede in skills either.
