By Vera Martirosyan

Armenian national’s midfielder Robert Arzumanyan, 26, joined Russia’s FC SKA-Energia on Wednesday. The club performs in the First Division. The right for his transfer belongs to Poland’s FC Yagelonia.

The Armenian player will perform for the FC SKA-Energia till May, 2013, Arzumanyan told NEWS.am Sport.

Asked to comment on the rumors claiming he could have joined FC Krasnodar, Arzumanyan said that he trained with the club several days. At first the club administration was worried about his injury, but later “they wanted to sign me.” However, the club agents advised the administration should sign a contract with another player.

As to whether he is satisfied with his new club, Arzumanyan said that it is very important to perform in the main team. Besides, the team staff is very good, he emphasized.

“The main goal is to be qualified to the Premier League of Russia,” he said, adding he has still to get a work permit to perform for the team. He is not fully ready at the moment but will be in a good shape after playing in several matches.

Regarding the fact whether Arzumanyan will be invited to join the national for the upcoming two matches of the World Cup qualifying round, the player said he has no idea, as it does not depend on him.

“If I am invited, I am ready to join the national,” he said.
