2018 Winter Olympics silver medalist, and two-time world and European champion Russian figure skater Evgenia Medvedeva (Babasyan) has dismissed the media reports that she wants to compete in another country’s team.
“Dear journalists, calm down!” the Figure Skating Federation of Russia website quoted the athlete with Armenian roots as saying. “The news that I’ve seen on the internet today has shocked me. Don’t fabricate what doesn’t exist! Do work! Leave me and my coach alone! We continue to work.”
The Russian press had also reported that Medvedeva was ending her collaboration with her coach Eteri Tutberidze.
