PyeongChang 2018: Armenia’s Mikayelyan does not pass qualification round

Team Armenia on Tuesday started their campaign at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea.

Mikayel Mikayelyan, however, could not pass the Men’s Sprint Classic Qualification in cross-country skiing.

And even though Katya Galstyan was scheduled to compete in the Ladies’ Sprint Classic Qualification of this event, her name is not on the list of participants.

Mikayelyan on Friday is expected to compete also in the Men’s 15km Free event, while Galstyan on Thursday is scheduled to take part in the Ladies’ 10km Free.

Armenia’s last representative, alpine skier Ashot Karapetyan, is slated to compete in the Men’s Giant Slalom on Sunday, and in the Men’s Slalom on February 22.

A total of 102 medals are up for grabs at PyeongChang 2018, and this is a record in the history of the Olympic Winter Games.
