According to reports, Inter Milan (Italy) had offered Manchester United FC (England) to swap Portuguese midfielder João Mário with Spanish international Juan Mata, but the Red Devils had turned down this offer.
The English football club does not wish to part ways with Mata, and plans to extend its current contract with him for one year.
According to The Sun newspaper of the UK, United manager José Mourinho is interested in João Mário’s transfer. But instead of Mata, the Portuguese specialist plans to include Armenian national squad captain and midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan—who is not getting any playing time lately at the Red Devils—in this deal.
To note, Borussia Dortmund (Germany), where 28-year-old Mkhitaryan played between 2013 and 2016, also are interested in his services.
