16 footballers playing abroad invited to Armenian squad

Manager of Armenian National Team Artur Petrosyan has named the 16 footballers playing abroad, who will prepare for the World Cup 2018 qualifiers against Romania (September 1) and Denmark (September 4), the official website of the Football Federation of Armenia (FFA) reports. The list includes Taron Voskanyan (Nea Salamis), Varazdat Haroyan (Ural), Gaël Andonian (Marseille), Hovhannes Hambartzumyan (Vardar), Kamo Hovhannisyan (Torpedo-BelAZ), Tigran Barseghyan (Vardar), David Manoyan (Nea Salamis), Gor Malakyan (Stal), Edgar Malakyan (Stal), Marcos Pizzelli (Al-Shabab), Henrikh Mkhitaryan (Manchester United), Aras Özbiliz (Beşiktaş), Armen Ambartsumyan (Fakel), Ruslan Koryan (SKA-Khabarovsk), Artur Sarkisov (Yenisey), and Sargis Adamyan (Jahn Regensburg).

In an interview with the official website of FFA, manager of the Armenian team informed that Hrayr Mkoyan and Edgar Manucharyan have not been invited because of their injuries.

Forward Sargis Adamyan received an invitation, since he stably plays in the team of 2. Bundesliga, while Gegham Kadimyan was not invited because of the limited number of footballers in the roster.
The list of footballers, which will be invited to the team from the teams of the Armenian Premier League will be published later.
