Grandmaster (GM) Tigran Petrosian became the winner of the World Open 2017 international chess tournament that wrapped up in Philadelphia, USA.
Petrosian, a member the three-time World Chess Olympiad champions and the former World Team Chess champions Armenia, garnered 7.5 points out of 9 possible and took the first place.
A total of 216 chess players—33 of whom, GMs—competed in this event.
