YEREVAN. – The Football Federation of Armenia (FFA) has issued a statement explaining why it has canceled the national squad’s friendly with Uzbekistan, and which was to be played in Antalya, Turkey.
“Considering the fact that terrorist acts are frequent in recent times in the territory of Turkey, the Football Federation of Armenia has decided to forego the friendly match with the Uzbekistan [national] team, proceeding from security considerations,” the FFA statement reads.
The Armenia vs. Uzbekistan friendly was slated for February 12.
