Euro-2016: Misfortunes of Armenian National Squad are going on

In Euro-2016 qualifying round match, Armenian National Team lost Serbia 0-2.

The first half of the match held in “Karadjordje” stadium finished 1-0 in favor of Serbia. Already in the 6th minute Armenia could open the score, but after the kick of Moscow’s “Spartak” defender Yura Movsisyan, host goalkeeper Vladimir Stojković played confidently, removing the ball. In the 22nd minute the score was opened by Yerevan’s “Pyunik” defender Levon Airapetian, who authored own goal. In two episodes, the team was saved by Gevorg Kasparov.


The Serbian team advanced during the second half. In the 53rd minute, Adem Ljajić (Internazionale) netted the second goal. By the end of the match, the guests were playing by a team of 10, since Levon Airapetian wasn’t able to continue the match because of his trauma.

During the first match in Yerevan, the teams exchanged goals, and the Serbs managed to avoid defeat by the end of the match (1-1).
The Serbian team won the match and gained 4 points. Armenia has one point. In another group, Denmark and Albania played draw 0-0, each collecting 11 scores. Portugal leads in Group A.

Armenian National Team will play against Denmark in Yerevan on September 7.
