Armenia national football squad and FC Spartak Moscow (Russia) midfielder Aras Ozbiliz explained that his words were completely misrepresented in his critical interview regarding Spartak’s Swiss Turkish manager Murat Yakin.
“Yes, I understand that maybe I did something impermissible by speaking to journalists without the permission of the press service of the [Russian] club.
“But I was frankly shocked when I read this interview today.
“I was born in Turkey, where my relatives live. I speak Turkish, including with Murat Yakin. I have many Turkish friends; that’s why there can be no ethnic issue here.
“Maybe the journalist wanted to mix his own thoughts with mine by twisting the real thought.
“I confronted him with this matter noting that I can’t have such issues,” Championat quoted the Armenia international as saying, in particular.
To note, the Russian media were reporting that Aras Ozbiliz will be fined for the aforementioned interview.
