PSG and France international midfielder Blaise Matuidi said he knows little about Armenia “except for Charles Aznavour”.
“As to football, I know your footballer playing in German championship,” Matuidi said during a press conference on Monday ahead of a friendly match against Armenia.
Although it is a friendly match, playing for the national squad is a great honor, he said.
“France can do well at EURO 2016 . We need to play more attentively, and success will come”.
Matuidi believes the players had made significant progress after the World Cup, and got to know each other better.
The player said he was honored to serve as a team captain in a match against Portugal, but added that Hugo Lloris is a real captain of France.
Armenia vs. France friendly match will be held at Republican Stadium in Yerevan on Tuesday.
