YEREVAN. – Armenia’s delegation has returned from the 2014 AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships, which were held in the Bulgarian capital city Sofia.
World championship gold medalist Anush Grigoryan (51 kg) and bronze medalist Narek Manasyan (81 kg) were greeted with great fanfare at Zvartnots International Airport of Armenia’s capital city Yerevan.
Grigoryan, who was Armenia’s sole representative in the women’s competition, had defeated Irma Testa (Italy), by a score of 3-0, in the final bout of her weight category, and won the world championship title. In this tournament she defeated two former world champions.
