Armenia’s Narek Manasyan (81 kg) became a bronze medalist at the 2014 AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships, which are wrapping up in the Bulgarian capital city Sofia.
Manasyan lost on points to Blago Naydenov (Bulgaria) in the semifinals.
By winning a bronze medal, however, the Armenian boxer qualified for the 2014 Summer Youth Olympic Games to be held in China.
Anush Grigoryan (51 kg), who is Armenia’s sole representative in the women’s competition, is the country’s only remaining athlete at the event.
Grigoryan will face Irma Testa (Italy) for the gold medal. The final bout will take place on Thursday.
As reported earlier, Anush Grigoryan likewise has qualified for the 2014 Summer Youth Olympic Games.
