Sweden’s capital Stockholm will not bid to host Winter Olympic Games 2022 because of financial reasons.
“It is always nicer to say yes than no, but it is in our mandate to make tough decisions,” Mayor Sten Nordin said. However, he added this does not mean that Stockholm will not host the event in the future, Local.se reported.
Six candidate cities for the Olympic Games 2022 are Oslo, Beijing, Krakow, Lviv and Almaty.
