Ancelotti no longer placed trust in me – Mesut Özil

Arsène Wenger trusts me and that’s what I need as a player, stated Mesut Özil, who transferred from Spain’s FC Real Madrid to London’s Arsenal.

The 24-year-old midfielder of the German national squad spoke about the reasons why he left Real.     

“I soon realised the coach [Carlo Ancelotti] and those responsible no longer placed trust in me. I am a player who needs trust and I felt that at Arsenal. That’s why I made the switch.

“He [i.e., Arsenal Manager Arsène Wenger] trusts me and that’s what I need as a player. Arsène Wenger places his trust in me and I can further myself,” ESPN quotes Özil as saying.

To note, Mesut Özil’s transfer is the most expensive one in Arsenal history.
