Armenian boxer Vladimir Sarukhanyan defeated Greek Alexandros Tsanikidis in the 1/8 finals at the final Olympic qualifying tournament in Trabzon, Turkey, and appears in the quarter-finals. He will face with the Scottish Josh Taylor on Wednesday.
To note, besides Sarukhanyan, Hrayr Matevosyan (69 kg) and Ara Puluzyan (64 kg) will continue performance out of 7 representatives of Armenia. Arthur Khachatryan (81 kg), Aram Avagyan (56 kg) and Hovhannes Danielyan (52 kg) were defeated at the beginning and left the tournament.
