Armenia’s Ara Puluzyan (64kg) defeated his Albanian opponent at the last 2012 London Olympics boxing qualification tournament, which is being held in Trabzon, Turkey, and qualified for the tournament’s quarterfinals.
Vladimir Sarukhanyan (60 kg) likewise started the last Olympic qualification championships with a victory, as he defeated his Serbian challenger in the 1/16 finals. He will face Greece’s representatives at the 1/8 finals on Tuesday.
But Artur Khachatryan (81 kg) lost to his Polish opponent at the 1/16 finals, and his Olympic hopes came to an end.
Also, Aram Avagyan (56 kg) was defeated by the Ukrainian boxer in the 1/8 finals.
