Henrikh Mkhitaryan needs two more goals to break Ukrainian league record (VIDEOS)

The Ukrainian Premier League football changed the registration of Sunday’s league match that was played between FC Dynamo Kyiv and FC Shakhtar Donetsk—which the visiting club, Shakhtar, had won by a score of 2-1—and awarded two goals to Armenian national team and Shakhtar midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

To note, in the first Shakhtar goal, the ball had hit the foot of Dynamo’s Brazilian defender Danilo Silva, after Mkhitaryan’s strike and, changing direction, entered the Dynamo net. As a result, an own goal was registered under Silva’s name but, later, it was registered as a goal for Mkhitaryan.

Hence, the total number of goals the Armenian international netted so far in the current season of the Ukrainian Premier League reached 21, which means Henrikh Mkhitaryan is one goal away from equaling the current record and two goals shy of breaking a new record in the Ukrainian league.

Seven games remain in the current season.
