Former Real Madrid and Spain defender Dani Carvajal, who now plays for Getafe, is confident that his former teammate at the Spanish giants, 41-year-old Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo of Al-Nassr, will reach 1,000 career goals before retiring from professional football.
“I’m sure Ronaldo to reach 1,000 goals, and he deserves it. He is an example of discipline and perseverance.
People forget about his best years at Real Madrid. You had to see it to believe it, especially in the dressing room.
Before an important Champions League match, he would tell me to make sure I delivered crosses into the penalty area, where Ronaldo was a terrifying presence for opponents - a real beast,” Carvajal said, as quoted by AS.
Ronaldo has scored 982 goals in his professional career, including 146 for the Portugal national team.
