World No. 27 Karen Khachanov failed to reach the quarterfinals of the Masters tournament in Shanghai, China.
In the fourth round, the Russian tennis player lost to world No. 9 Alex de Minaur of Australia, 3–6, 4–6. The match lasted one hour and 24 minutes.
De Minaur’s quarterfinal opponent will be the winner of the match between Alexander Zverev (Germany) and Alexander Bublik (Kazakhstan).
The prize fund for the Shanghai tournament is $9.4 million.
