Denmark national team forward Rasmus Hojlund explained why he celebrated his goal in the Nations League Matchday 3 game against Portugal in the style of Cristiano Ronaldo, who had left the national team the previous day amidst a scandal involving the head coach. The match took place in Copenhagen and ended in a 4–2 victory for Portugal.
"It was simply a tribute to the man who, perhaps, has ended his national team career after what happened yesterday. That’s all. There is no disrespect intended. He is a huge idol of mine," A Bola quotes Hojlund as saying.
It is worth noting that after the match, Rasmus pushed Portugal head coach Jorge Jesus.
