The reigning UFC lightweight (70 kg) champion Justin Gaethje does not intend to return to the Octagon this year to fight Arman Tsarukyan (Armenia), the number two-ranked fighter in the division.
"I have a knee injury. It’s been three months since my last fight, but I still can't throw a punch.
The victory over Topuria took a lot out of me physically, and I still need to recover. I’ll make a decision about my next fight when the time comes," Heavy quotes Gaethje as saying.
Gaethje defeated Ilia Topuria at an event held at the White House in Washington, taking the championship belt from him.
