In a match rescheduled from the opening round of the Spanish football championship, reigning champions Barcelona hosted Athletic Bilbao and secured a 2–0 victory (video).
Brazilian forward Raphinha opened the scoring for the team led by German manager Hansi Flick in the 37th minute. Spanish midfielder Fermin Lopez doubled the hosts' lead in the 82nd minute.
Barcelona has now claimed its second victory and sits at the top of the standings.
