Armenia will have one representative Tuesday at the 2026 European Weightlifting Championships in Batumi, Georgia.
Two-time European champion, silver medalist, and world championship bronze medalist Gor Sahakyan, 22, will compete in the men’s 71kg weight class.
Ten weightlifters will compete for medals in this weight class.
Gor Sahakyan’s initial submission in the combined total is 340 kg, which is the highest. Yusuf Genc (Turkey) and Yegor Popov (Russia) have submitted 335 kg, each.
The Group A competition in the men’s 71kg weight class will start at 19:00 Armenia time.
