In the Round of 32, the Italian tennis star defeated world No. 39 Denis Shapovalov (Canada) 6:3, 6:2. The match lasted 1 hour and 11 minutes.
Sinner's opponent in the Round of 16 will be world No. 35 Joao Fonseca (Brazil), who defeated world No. 24 Tommy Paul (USA) 6:2, 6:3 in the Round of 32.
The prize fund of the Indian Wells Masters is $9.4 million.
