Five representatives of Armenia will compete in the 2026 Winter Olympics to be held in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy from February 6 to 22, informs the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports of Armenia.
Armenia will be represented by cross-country skiers Mikael Mikaelyan and Katya Galstyan, alpine skier Harutyun Harutyunyan, as well as the Karina Akopova/Nikita Rakhmanin pair skating duo.
The flag bearers of Armenia at the official opening ceremony of the games will be the Akopova/Rakhmanin duo. They have won the first Olympic spot for figure skating pairs ever since Armenia's independence in 1991.
The figure skaters will compete first. Their competition in the short program qualification round is scheduled for February 6. The free program qualification round will take place on February 8.
On February 7, cross-country skier Katya Galstyan will compete in the women’s 20km skiathlon (classic/freestyle), and on February 12, in the 10km interval (freestyle).
On February 8, cross-country skier Mikael Mikaelyan will compete in the men’s 20km skiathlon (classic/freestyle), and on February 13, in the 10km interval (freestyle).
And alpine skier Harutyun Harutyunyan will compete in the men’s giant slalom on February 14, and in the downhill on February 16.
A total of 116 sets of medals will be contested at the 2026 Winter Olympics. Competitions will be held in 16 sports.
