Figure Skating Federation of Armenia: Matters such as non-issuance of visas by UK embassy dealt with by relevant national federations

The Figure Skating Federation of Armenia has issued an official statement.

“In response to inaccurate information disseminated in some media outlets, the Figure Skating Federation of Armenia informs that the Federation is in constant and effective cooperation with both the Olympic Committee of Armenia and the Ministry of ESCS [i.e. Education, Science, Culture and Sport, and always receives the proper response and support from these bodies.

As for the non-issuance of visas by the Great Britain embassy [in Armenia], such issues are dealt with by the relevant national federations, and the Figure Skating Federation is no exception in this regard.

The meeting of the Federation representatives at the Olympic Committee concerned exclusively organizational issues related to participation in the Olympic Games. No official petition for the issuance of visas was submitted to the Olympic Committee.

Similarly, the topic of visa delays was raised with the Ministry of ESCS only during a phone conversation, at the level of a suggestion, without an official petition. 

After the delay, the mentioned bodies did not have any legal or practical chance to intervene in the process.

We are convinced that if there were any official mechanism or chance to intervene, the relevant structures would definitely have taken advantage of it, proceeding from the interests of our team,” reads, in particular, the statement of the Figure Skating Federation of Armenia.
