World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz suffered an unexpected defeat at the start of the Paris Masters.
The Spanish star tennis player began his campaign in the men’s singles competition from the Round of 32 and lost 6–4, 3–6, 4–6 to world No. 31 Cameron Norrie (UK). The match lasted 2 hours and 22 minutes.
For a place in the quarterfinals, Norrie will face the winner of the match between Valentin Vacherot (Monaco, world No. 40) and Arthur Rinderknech (France, world No. 29) in the Round of 32.
The prize fund of the Paris Masters is €6.1 million.
