Before the start of the game, a minute of silence was held at the Republican Stadium in memory of forward Diogo Jota, who died in a car accident.
The Portuguese national team's goals were scored by Saudi Al-Nassr forwards Cristiano Ronaldo and João Félix, with Al-Hilal defender João Cancelo scoring once.
Ronaldo scored his 140th goal for the national team.
In another Group F match, Ireland will play Hungary.
In the second round, the Armenian national team will host Ireland in Yerevan on September 9.
