Novak Djokovic made a winning start in the men’s singles competition at the US Open in New York. In the first round of this tennis tournament, the 24-time Grand Slam champion and world No.7 Serbian defeated world No.48 Learner Tien (USA), 19, in three sets—6-1, 7-6 (7-3), 6-2.
Also, Djokovic, 38, made history by claiming his 75th straight opening win in a Grand Slam tournament.
His opponent in the second round will be world No.143 Zachary Svajda (USA).
The prize fund of the US Open is $90 million.
