World No.10 Andrey Rublev suffered a startling defeat at the start of the Citi Open tournament in Washington.
The Russian tennis player began his campaign in this competition in the Round of 32 and faced world No.67 Learner Tien (USA), 19, who won 7:5, 6:2.
The match lasted 1 hour and 31 minutes. Tien's opponent in the Round of 16 will be the winner of the match between Spaniards Alejandro Davidovich Fokina (26) and Jaume Munar (50) in the Round of 32.
The prize fund of the Citi Open is $2.3 million.
