World No. 2 Coco Gauff suffered a shocking defeat in the first round of the women’s singles competition at Wimbledon tennis tournament and is out from the rest of this competition.
The American tennis star played against world No. 42 Dayana Yastremska (Ukraine) and lost 6:7 (3:7), 1:6. The match lasted 1 hour and 19 minutes.
Yastremska will face Anastasia Zakharova (Russia) in the second round.
Gauff is the 2023 US Open and the 2025 French Open champion.
