Armenia's Aleksandra Bibikina achieved a historic result at the European Diving Championships in Turkey, winning a silver medal. This was announced on Facebook by Gabriel Ghazaryan, President of the Diving Federation of Armenia.
Bibikina won the silver medal in the women’s 3-meter springboard, with 322.95 points. Michelle Luisa Heimberg of Switzerland became the European champion, with 335.10 points.
Independent Armenia's first medal at the European diving championships was won by Vladimir Harutyunyan and Lev Sargsyan in 2018. At the 2018 European Aquatics Championships held in Edinburgh, Scotland, the Harutyunyan-Sargsyan pair had won the bronze medal in the men’s 10-meter synchronized platform event, losing only to the Russian and UK pairs.
