World No. 1 Jannik Sinner has reached the quarterfinals of the Italian Open being held in Rome.
The Italian tennis star defeated world No. 18 Francisco Cerundolo (Argentina) 7:6 (7:2), 6:3 in the Round of 16. The match lasted 2 hours and 18 minutes.
Sinner's opponent in the quarterfinals will be the winner of the match between world No. 7 Casper Ruud (Norway) and world No. 66 Jaume Munar (Spain) in the Round of 16.
The prize fund of the Italian Open is 8 million euros.
