World No. 24 Karen Khachanov started with a victory at the ATP-500 tournament in Dubai.
The Russian tennis player defeated the 178th racket of the world Daniel Evans from Great Britain with the score 6:1, 6:3. The match lasted 1 hour and 21 minutes.
Khachanov's opponent in the third round will be the winner of the pair Stefanos Tsitsipas (Greece) - Lorenzo Sonego (Italy).
The prize fund of the tournament in Dubai is 3.2 million dollars.
