Elina Avanesyan, who is ranked world No. 44 in women’s tennis, could not reach the final of the Hobart International tournament in Australia.
In the semifinals, the representative of Armenia faced world No. 67 McCartney Kessler (USA), who won in three sets—4:6, 6:3, 6:4. The match lasted 2 hours and 4 minutes.
Kessler's opponent in the final will be the winner of the semifinal clash between world No. 34 Elise Mertens (Belgium) and world No. 118 Maya Joint (Australia).
