Elina Avanesyan, the 43rd ranked women’s tennis player in the world, won her first match at the Brisbane International tournament being held in Australia.
In the Round of 64, the representative of Armenia face world No. 46 Rebecca Sramkova (Slovakia) and won in three sets—1: 6, 6: 2, 6: 2. The match lasted 1 hour and 43 minutes.
In the Round of 32, Avanesyan will go against world No. 12 Paula Badosa (Spain).
The prize fund of the Brisbane International is $1.520 million.
