The goal by Italian midfielder Nicolo Barella of the reigning champions, Inter Milan, was named the Goal of the Month of August in the Italian Serie A.
In the third round of the new Serie A season, Inter had beaten UEFA Europa League winners Atalanta, with a score of 4-0.
