Russian football club penalized with technical defeat

Session of the Control and Disciplinary Committee of the Russian Football Union was held Thursday.

The meeting was devoted to the incident that occurred during the Russian Premier League match between FC Dynamo Moscow and FC Zenit of Saint Petersburg.     

The Committee members decided to penalize Zenit with a technical defeat. Also, both clubs will be fined and they will hold their home matches in empty stadiums, Sports.ru reports.   

To note, FC Dynamo Moscow goalkeeper Anton Shunin was injured as a result of a firecracker that was thrown into the pitch by Zenit fans during the aforementioned match and, as a result, the game was suspended. Also, Shunin lost his eyesight and hearing for some time.
