Portugal head coach Roberto Martinez commented on the incredible game of Porto goalkeeper Diogo Costa in the 1/8 finals of Euro 2024 in Germany. Portugal beat Slovenia 3-0 on penalties. Diogo Costa deflected all three shots. The main and extra time ended with the score 0:0.
"Portugal's main secret is Diogo Costa. He is the same in European football. Today he was on another level. In the course of the match, Costa performed superbly when the opponent was alone against him. Moreover, he didn't lack concentration and qualities then, deflecting all three strikes. We should be proud of him," Roberto Martinez was quoted as saying by the UEFA website.
Portugal will face world vice-champion France in the quarterfinals. The meeting will take place on July 5 and will start at 23:00 Yerevan time.
