Portugal and Porto goalkeeper Diogo Costa, 24, is the first goalkeeper to make three saves during the penalty shootouts in the final stages of the European championships, reports the UEFA website.
Also, Costa has become the first goalkeeper to not concede any goals during the penalty shootouts.
Portugal beat Slovenia 3-0 on penalties in the Round of 16. The regular and extra time of this match ended in a goalless draw, and Costa was named as the player of the match.
In the Euro 2024 quarterfinals, Portugal will face reigning FIFA World Cup silver medalists France, who had defeated Belgium 1-0 in the Round of 16.
