France's world champion striker Kylian Mbappe (Real Madrid) has complained that he is uncomfortable playing in a protective mask.
Mbappe suffered a broken nose in the first match of the group stage of Euro 2024, France beat Austria 1-0.
"At the moment of the blow I didn't feel anything. When I saw the opposing goalkeeper looking at me, I realized something was wrong. When I saw my face in the mirror, I thought the tournament was over for me.
Playing in a mask is an absolute nightmare. I had to change my first mask because it was uncomfortable.
Playing with a mask is difficult because it restricts your view and sweat accumulates and you have to take it off to let it run off," RMC Sport quoted Mbappe as saying.
