Neymar is 10th athlete in history to earn at least $1 billion

Neymar, the 32-year-old forward of Al-Hilal (Saudi Arabia) and the Brazilian national football team, is the tenth athlete in history to earned at least $1 billion during his professional sporting career, Transfer News Live reports.

Neymar's total income—from salary, contracts with sponsors, and some other transactions—has reached $1.01 billion.

The respective top 10 is as follows:

1) Michael Jordan (USA, basketball): $2.7 billion

2) Tiger Woods (USA, golf): $1.85 billion

3) Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal, football): $1.57 billion

4) LeBron James (USA, basketball): $1.36 billion

5) Lionel Messi (Argentina, football): $1.36 billion

6) Roger Federer (Switzerland, tennis): $1.17 billion

7) Floyd Mayweather Jr. (USA, boxing): $1.14 billion

8) David Beckham (England, football): $1.13 billion

9) Phil Mickelson (USA, golf): $1.05 billion

10) Neymar (Brazil, football): $1.01 billion
