The European Weightlifting Championship ended in Bulgaria. Armenia took the first place in the medal standings, winning 10 medals. The second place was taken by Bulgaria (7 medals), the third place was taken by Italy (4 medals).
The Armenian team won 4 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze medals.
European champions were Alexandra Grigoryan (55 kg), Gor Sahakyan (67 kg) and Hakob Mkrtchyan (96 kg).
Silver medalists were David Hovhannisyan (96 kg), Samvel Gasparyan and Simon Martirosyan.
Bronze medals were won by Rafik Harutyunyan (81 kg), Garik Karapetyan and Hripsime Khurshudyan.
