US Open: Djokovic advances to 2nd round, to become World No. 1 again

World No. 2 Novak Djokovic (Serbia) reached the second round of the US Open.

In the first round, the 23-time Grand Slam winner competed with World No. 84 Alexandre Muller (France) and won in three sets: 6:0, 6:2, 6:3. The match lasted 1 hour and 36 minutes.

Thanks to this victory, Djokovic will overtake Carlos Alcaraz (Spain) in the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) rankings and will again become World No. 1.

Novak Djokovic's opponent in the second round will be World No. 76 Bernabe Zapata Miralles (Spain).

The US Open prize fund is $65 million.
