World No. 20 Karen Khachanov reached the semifinals of the Australian Open for the first time in his career. The Russian tennis player reached the same stage at the U.S. Open.
Khachanov will move up to No. 15 in the ATP rankings.
In the quarterfinals of the Australian Open Khachanov defeated Sebastian Korda of the United States 7-6 (7-5), 6-3, 3-0.
In the semifinals, Khachanov will play against Jiri Legechka, the winner of the Stefanos Tsitsipas match.
The prize fund of the Australian Open is $51.3 million.
