World Cup 2022: Japan stronger than Germany (PHOTOS, VIDEO)

The German team suffered a sensational defeat in the first round match of the group stage of the World Cup. The Japanese team won a volitional victory over the Germans with a score of 2-1.

Ilkay Gundogan, a 32-year-old midfielder for English champion Manchester City, opened the scoring in the 33rd minute with a penalty kick.

Japan won thanks to goals from Freiburg Germany's 24-year-old midfielder Ritsu Doan (video) and Bochum Germany's 28-year-old striker Takuma Asano (video).

In the other match of Group E, Spain and Costa Rica will meet. The game will start at 20:00 Yerevan time.
