Didier Deschamps, head coach of the French national team and world champion, spoke about the specifics of working with PSG and the national team striker Kylian Mbappe before the World Cup, which starts in Qatar on November 20.
"He’s a forward who needs freedom. I will give him that freedom. But he will have defensive obligations, less than all the other players behind him, midfielders and defenders. But at the highest level, we can’t afford to lose a player when we don’t have the ball," Telefoot quoted Deschamps as saying.
The French national team will start the World Cup on November 22, competing with the Australian team. The French will also face Denmark and Tunisia in the group stage.
