YEREVAN. – With the decision of the Council of Elders of Armenia’s capital city Yerevan, and in connection with the city’s 2794th anniversary, international Grandmaster, distinguished chess player Rafael Vahanian is awarded with the “Honorary Citizen of Yerevan” title, for his great merit in and considerable contribution to chess.
This title is also awarded to Armenian national football team and Ukraine’s FC Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and for his great success in football and his brilliant achievements in sports.
